| ► Look for the "DOORS OPEN ONTARIO" BANNERS at all the Doors Open Chatham-Kent sites. The banners yellow and blue or black and yellow read "Doors Open Ontario" in English on one side and French on the other and will be set outside each site to help with identification. Locally produced signs with yellow and blue balloons will also guide you to the stops on the tour. |

| ► The paintings of Mildred Marion Betts (Patterson) who was born in England in 1889 and died in Kent County in 1976 at the age of 87 will be on display at MORPETH'S TRINITY UNITED CHURCH . She was approximately 18 years old when she came to Canada and the Guilds - Blenheim area and was between 25 - 35 when she did the bulk of her artwork. She sold some, gave others as gifts in the community, and the family has a spread out collection, in frames, some not, from B.C. to Bruce Peninsula, and in this area. Also look for a silver communion set given to the parish by Charlotte second daughter to Governor Simcoe in the early 1800’s will be on display in the church which is also the site of a memorial cairn to famous Canadian poet Archibald Lampman (1861-1899). He wrote “Outlook” ( Not to be conquered by these headlong days, But to stand free…” among many others. |
| ► The C-K Singers (formerly the Kent Glee Club,) under the direction of Dennis Myers, will be performing a concert at CALEB VILLAGE in Chatham at 2:00 pm. The program will feature sacred, pop, spirituals, novelty and show tunes to enliven your Doors Open tour. |
| ► Will angelic harp music be playing at the THE PINES CHAPEL ? This is the real thing not a CD and harpist Linda may be on hand as she has been previously to pluck at our musical heartstrings. |
| ► At the ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION BRANCH 324 in Wheatley, veterans and members knowledgeable about the displays will be on hand to explain the artifacts stored in over 60 display cases. There are hundreds of items on display to amaze anyone fascinated by military history. |
